Hi friends, as you know, Adam our son was born and immediately transferred over to The Hospital for Sick Children. When he arrived, our journey started in their NICU.
This is just the beginning of our story...
We were given a cribside fishtank our second night there, and it was amazing. It gave off a soft glow, played music, and made ocean sounds. It calmed our sweet newborn every night when he went to sleep, and when we heartbreakingly had to leave him to go back to @rmhctoronto.
My husband and I were so grateful for this fishtank. We both agreed that every baby in the NICU should have one.
A lot of Mama's are helicoptered in from out of town, or are rushed in with their sweet babes hours after birth. There is no Walmart downtown where parents can go purchase these comforts for their babies. And any NICU parent knows that's the last thing on your mind.
We were fortunate enough to be able to grab our identical fishtank from home and bring it in, and give back the one on Adam's crib to another baby. But we decided at that moment that we WILL make sure that every crib spot in the NICU has its own cribside fishtank!
There weren't nearly enough for every baby, and with parents there from all over the country who didn't have access to a store, we knew we had to step up and help.
#loveloladaisy's first act of giving back is to outfit the entire @sickkidstoronto NICU with these cribside fish tanks! There are 38 beds, and each one of them WILL have one by the time we are done ...and believe it when I say this is only the beginning, we are just getting started! 💙
After talking to our "home" unit at SickKids and the Donations Coordinator, we've decided why stop at the NICU when we know that these fishtanks are one of the most desired donations that the entire hospital benefits from.
So, we're going big! We are not stopping when we reach 38 tanks, we are adding 10 more to the General Surgery floor, and will continue to keep going and donate fishtanks to the rest of the hospital as well, including but not limited to the Cardiac unit and Critical Care units!!!
When you purchase something from #loveloladaisy 100% of the profits are going towards buying these cribside fishtanks, and directly affecting and benefiting families, right now!!!
The @sickkidsvs is doing amazing things with fundraising and campaigns, but being a SickKids parent, I know what's needed on the inside, and through #loveloladaisy I am making it my mission to give back as much as we can!!!!
So THANK YOU for every dollar, every conversation, well wish, and all of your support. From my family and our SickKids family that are still there. 💙

At the beginning of May, we were able to donate 50 crib side fishtanks to not only the NICU at The Hospital for Sick Children, but enough to fill up every unit in the entire hospital!
This means that NO baby will ever go without a comforting, soothing aquarium. It means that parents can take comfort knowing that their sweet baby will sleep soundly to soft lights and soothing sounds when they are not there. Thank you for your support! From Adam and his SK friends. |
